Frequently Asked Questions
-
Individual sessions are 50 minutes, and couples sessions are typically one hour. I also offer extended sessions for couples and families looking for more intensive, less frequent meetings.
-
I encourage new clients to meet with me once per week, but I also understand that is not always possible given busy work schedules and family responsibilities. If meeting biweekly or as needed is the only way to make therapy a reality for you, I don’t want a weekly meeting requirement to be a barrier and will work with you to accommodate your schedule.
-
I don’t take insurance, but I can provide monthly statements for out of network reimbursement. I am happy to explain how this works during our introductory call.
-
My current fee is $275 for individual sessions and $350 for couples and family sessions. I reserve a few sliding scale spots for new clients.
-
My office is located in Greenwich Village, and I also see clients living in New York and Connecticut remotely.
-
I typically require 48 hours notice for cancellations. However, I understand life happens and always give clients one cancellation fee waiver.
-
To schedule an appointment, please email me at cjabinsky@relationaltherapy.net or complete the contact form on my website. I will then arrange a 20-minute consultation meeting with you to better understand what you are looking for and give you a chance to ask me any questions you have.
-
First sessions are typically an informal intake where we explore what’s bringing you to therapy, prior experiences with therapy, and begin to think about your goals for treatment. It’s really a way for us to start becoming more comfortable with one another. I encourage you to ask me any questions about how therapy works and what to expect going forward.
